John B. Kati
John B. Kati, 95, of Zelienople, passed away on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, at Avalon Nursing Center in New Castle.
Born in Zelienople on Dec. 12, 1926, John was the son of the late Charles and Emma Lorenz Kati.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Esther Cortez.
John had retired from Halstead and Mitchell, where he worked as a crane operator.
He was a member of Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Church.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Pacific during World War II.
He was a member of the Zelienople Hungarian Club, American Legion Post 474 and the Zelienople-Harmony Sportsman’s Club.
He was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing bingo with his wife.
John is survived by his two daughters, Sherry (Tracy) Mulhollen and Janet (Bruce) Patrick, both of Ellwood City; and three grandsons, Cody Patrick, Christopher Mulhollen and Scott Mulhollen.
In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose and Julie; and five brothers, Eugene, Charlie, Joseph, David and Bill.
