Butler Twp

12:50 a.m. Sept. 7 — Police investigated a reported theft of catalytic converters from multiple vehicles at the Highland Apartments. Police said a suspect was driving a dark-colored passenger car. Anyone with video footage of Whitestown Road between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. Sept. 7 is encouraged to call the department at 724-285-9600.

Cranberry Twp

Sept. 7 — Jason R. Kloss, 42, of New Castle, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft, criminal conspiracy and possessing stolen property. Police said he took a DeWalt blower valued at $219 from Home Depot.

State Police

Sept. 9 — Jonathan R. Greathouse, 40, of Slippery Rock, was charged with misdemeanor DUI. Police said he was slumped behind the wheel of a vehicle running and stopped at the intersection of Route 528 and Route 8 in Brady Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Greathouse was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.084%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.

Sept. 9 — Shannon M. Sefton, 25, of Cabot, was charged with misdemeanor DUI, marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession. Police said they stopped him July 4 on South Main Street in Butler. Police said field sobriety tests showed Sefton was impaired, and about 4 grams of marijuana and a glass pipe were recovered from the vehicle. Police said a later blood test showed marijuana in Sefton’s system.

Sept. 9 — Shawn C. Ferrer, 46, of Butler Township, was charged with misdemeanor DUI and marijuana possession. Police said they stopped him Aug. 4 on Center Avenue, Butler. Police said field sobriety tests showed Ferrer was impaired, and a later blood test showed marijuana in his system and a blood-alcohol level of 0.073%.

Sept. 8 — Jolena E. Bowser, 44, of Parker, was charged with felony retail theft and misdemeanor possession of stolen property. Police said she stole clothing from the Boscov’s at the Clearview Mall in Center Township. Police said Bowser selected a number of clothing items, went to the changing room and exited the booth and store, appearing far bulkier than when she entered. Police said that if she is convicted, this would be Bowser’s eighth retail theft offense.

Sept. 8 — Abdirizak Abib, 39, of Minneapolis, Minn., was charged with misdemeanor DUI. Police said they investigated a July 27 report of an erratic tractor-trailer driver who stopped to fuel on New Castle Road, Worth Township. Police said they investigated, and field sobriety tests showed Abib was impaired. Police said a later blood test showed meth and fentanyl in his system.

Sept. 7 — Nate E. Gill, 21, of Slippery Rock, was charged with misdemeanor DUI. Police said they investigated an Aug. 19 single-vehicle crash into a utility pole on Route 528, Franklin Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Gill was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.145%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.

Sept. 7 — Jay E. Vinroe, 34, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI after police said they investigated a crash between his vehicle and a deer on West Brewster Road in Franklin Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Vinroe was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.130%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit. Vinroe also does not have a driver’s license, and his vehicle was not registered, insured or inspected.
