Mary Weiland

Mary M. Weiland, 90, of Bonniebrook Road, Butler, died Friday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born Oct, 14, 1917, in Oakland Township, she was a daughter of Alphonse and Margaret Ryan Benson.

She was a homemaker and mother and was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church. She had been a Cub Scout leader, a Brownie leader, a Girl Scout leader and also leader of a 4-H Club. She was a life member of the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club and the Chicora Senior Center, and she loved to cook, sew, paint, make quilts and have flower gardens.

Surviving are seven daughters, Mary Ann (Andrew) Mellish of Chicora, Cecelia (Herbert) Schmeider, Elizabeth (Peter) Green, Peggy (Rodney) Dickman, Norine Rowley and Shirley (Jerry) Garing, all of Butler, and Rosalie (Barry) Bentley of Columbus, Ohio; three sons, Guy (Cindy) Weiland, Leonard (Beth) Weiland, and Jerry Weiland, all of Butler; a sister, Irene Green of Chicora; a son-in-law, Ronald Ehrman of Karns City; 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a number of sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph B. Weiland, whom she married Aug. 8, 1940, and who died May 15, 1991; a daughter, Rita Ehrman, who died, Dec. 31, 2005; two brothers, Paul and Gerald Benson; and three sisters, Agnes Green, Rosale Graham and Gertrude Graham.

<B>Weiland</B> — Friends of Mary M. Weiland, who died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, North Oakland.
