John Speicher
John Donald Speicher, 83, of Butler, passed away on Sept.19, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
He was born Oct. 28, 1938, in Butler, and was the son of the late Joseph E. Speicher and the late Josephine Schultz Speicher.
John worked as an equipment operator for PennDot, and retired in 2005 after 30 years of service.
He was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Sons of Italy and the Pennsylvania Sheriffs’ Association.
John enjoyed playing bingo. He had a love for West Highland white terriers, loved to travel and to eat at different Italian restaurants.
John is survived by his wife, Linda Speicher, whom he married on Aug. 3, 1973; Marty Caldwell, his best friend whom he thought of as a son; several nieces and nephews; and his favorite companion, Buddy, his West Highland white terrier.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
SPEICHER — Friends of John Donald Speicher, who died Monday, Sept.19, 2022, will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. Friday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler, with the Rev. David M. Phillips officiating.
