HARRISBURG — The office of Pennsylvania’s attorney general is trying to figure out how to comply with a state Supreme Court order to suspend her law license and make her ineligible to practice law.

A spokesman for the attorney general’s office said the court notified Kathleen Kane on Tuesday the suspension wouldn’t take effect for 30 days. Kane is fighting perjury, obstruction and other charges.

Spokesman Chuck Ardo says the office continues to function normally, but lawyers there are discussing what changes must be made. Kane’s private lawyers haven’t said whether they’ll challenge or appeal.

St. Vincent College law professor Bruce Antkowiak says it could create an enormously complicated situation for Kane’s office to sort out and potentially give defense lawyers an avenue to raise challenges.
