Smietana

Edward Smietana Jr., 76, of Paw Paw, Mich., died on Sept. 12, 2022.

Ed was born Dec. 14, 1945, in Edinburgh, Ind., to Edward Sr. and Eva (aka Stella) (Soberiaj) Smietana.

Ed truly valued life and the experiences it had to offer. His career as a professional with Boy Scouts of America spanned over three decades. He was well-traveled, a great listener and an even better storyteller. A nice glass of wine and a little jazz or classical music in the background with his wife, Ginger, by his side is all it took to make a perfect evening.

Ed was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Abbey.

Surviving are his wife, Ginger; his children, Edward III (Cynthia) Smietana, Eva (Michael) Espenan, Benjamin (Vivian) Smietana, Elizabeth (Anthony) Capezzuto and Lee (Heather) Sullenger; his grandchildren, Ethan, Caleb, Seth, Evita, Arlo, Vincent, Audrey, Anthony, Leo and Alexandra; his siblings, Patty (Bob) Steere, Chris (Bob) Craig and Dennis (Linda) Smietana; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place.

SMIETANA — Please join us at a Life Story Service for Edward Smietana Jr., who died Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, to be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at BETZLER & THOMPSON LIFE STORY FUNERAL HOMES, 60900 M-40, Paw Paw, Mich.

A reception will follow at the Paw Paw Lions Club.

Cremation has taken place.
