The Saxonburg Area Artists Cooperative will open its second members theme show “Rebirth” in time for the Saxonburg Festival of the Arts this weekend, although the reception for artists will be held later in September.

The exhibit will open Friday and continue through Oct. 8.

During the Festival of the Arts, SAAC will host demonstrations of ironworking, metal sculpture, woodworking and other art. Some music also is planned.

The artists' reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 24 featuring music by Amanda Noah and refreshments.

Fourteen artists are expected to participate: Mark Weleski, painting and mixed media; David Henschel, ironwork; Sam Andrew, metal sculpture; Rebecca

Andrew, photography; Marti Larkin, fiber art; Ed Zembruski, ceramics; Christy Culp, ceramics; Marilyn Martin, jewelry; Stan Iwanski, watercolor; Mike Bestwick, mixed media; Prissy Pakulski, stained glass; Kristen Eddy, digital art; Bill Burkhart, wood furniture and accents; and Chad Parker, steel and glass.

Gallery hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, 1 to 9 p.m. Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays.
