10:11 a.m. Friday - Jennie Morris, 27, of Butler was arrested after she was found at the North McKean Street home of Bradley Hofer, who has a court-issued protection of abuse order against the defendant. Morris is charged with indirect criminal contempt.
10 p.m. Saturday - Chad Allen Nicholson, 20, no known address, suspected in an earlier vehicle theft in Armstrong County, was arrested following a traffic stop on Mars-Evans City Road.Nicholson allegedly stole the 1996 Saturn SE between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 3:45 a.m. Saturday from an Apollo home. He was arraigned on charges of theft and receiving stolen property, and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bond.
4 p.m. Sunday - Preston Bartmas, 21, was arrested after he allegedly ran into the woods at his Portman Road home in Summit Township, where police had were looking for the defendant, wanted on a bench warrant. Bartmas, who was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant, faces an additional charge of resisting arrest charge.6 p.m. Saturday - Police are seeking the unknown hit-and-run driver of a 1978 Chevy Blazer that struck an embankment and rolled onto its roof on Route 308 near Branchton Road in Cherry Township. The driver fled after the crash.4:30 p.m. Saturday - A car driven by Mildred Trufley, 71, of Slippery Road struck a tree along Golf View Road in Slippery Rock Township.2:05 a.m. Saturday - David Law, 47, of Clark Mills, Mercer County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 422 near Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.1:20 a.m. Saturday - Noah Clark, 22, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 northbound in Muddy Creek Township. Police said Clark's car struck another car driven by Thomas Korhnak, 18, of Bethel Park, Allegheny County.6 p.m. Friday - A .357-caliber revolver was among items taken in a burglary at a Hall Road home in Clay Township. Also taken was $60 in currency and a number of DVDs. Witnesses spotted a tan or beige Jeep Cherokee in the area about the time of the break-in. William Hary of Pittsburgh owns the stolen property, valued at about $1,500.1:05 a.m. Friday - A car driven by Gene Fend, 20, of Butler crashed on North Duffy Road in Center Township.Friday - Someone between 3:23 and 5 p.m. broke into an apartment building at 570 Herman Road in Summit Township. The unknown suspect broke a padlock to a basement door to the building. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.10:30 p.m. Tuesday - A car driven by Janine Frobe, 39, of Butler struck a tree along Green Manor Drive in Jefferson Township. Police said Frobe left the scene of the crash, which was reported the next day by a passing motorist. Frobe, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.2:10 p.m. Tuesday - Dean Krelko, 44, of Butler allegedly wrote a check on a closed account to pay for items at the Arner's Lawn Equipment on Staff Road in Brady Township Krelko is charged with theft by deception, receiving stolen property, and bad checks.6:26 p.m. Aug. 8 - Pauline Fleming, 34, of Clarion swerved her car to avoid a collision with a pickup truck and struck an embankment on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township. Jamie Chandler, 49, of Slippery Rock, the pickup driver, was cited for illegally passing another vehicle.
12:45 p.m. Sunday - A car driven by Diane Guthrie, 53, of Polk, Venango County, struck a deer on Route 965 in Worth Township, Mercer County. Guthrie, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.2:20 a.m. Sunday - A pickup truck driven by Matthew Schreckengost, 22, of Grove City struck a guide rail and utility pole at Springfield Church and Irishtown roads in Pine Township, Mercer County. Schreckengost was cited for driving too fast for conditions.11:20 p.m. Saturday - Jesse Stecz, 16, of Grove City was injured when his pickup truck struck a large tree limb laying on Brent Road near Route 208 in Springfield and ended up against a tree. The teen was trapped inside his vehicle after the crash and had to freed by firefighters from Grove City and Pine and Springfield townships.Stecz, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken with minor injuries to United Community Hospital in Grove City.8 p.m. Saturday - A motorcycle driven by Bruce Knoechel, 54, of Zelienople and a car driven by ParmanandPooran, 42, of Ontario, Canada, collided on Interstate 79 at Route 208 in Springfield Township, Mercer County.Cynthia Knoechel, 53, of Zelienople, a passenger on the motorcycle, was taken with minor injuries to United Community Hospital in Grove City. Bruce Knoechel was cited for a traffic signal violation.Saturday - James Winger reported that someone between 8 a.m. Friday and 10 p.m. Saturday broke into his Hay Lane home in Pine Township, Mercer County and stole $47.
