United Way of Butler County will host its 22nd annual volunteer event from Oct. 2 to 6.

Some projects will also be available for completion Oct. 7 at the request of the volunteers and the discretion of the agency.

The event offers volunteers a first-hand look at services provided by these nonprofit agencies, organizations, parks and recreational facilities. A variety of projects are available, including donation drives, craft projects, landscaping and painting.

[naviga:h3]More work planned on I-79 this week[/naviga:h3]

CRANBERRY TWP — Nighttime lane restrictions continue this week for Interstate 79, north and south, in Butler County.

The restrictions are between Exit 88 for Little Creek Road and Exit 78 for Cranberry due to road shoulder work, bridge work and sign installation.

This $16.7 million interstate resurfacing project is being done by Lindy Paving and is expected to be completed by the end of October.
