Ricky A. “Stella” Sasse, 68, of Butler, passed away on Sept. 14, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital with his wife, Kim, by his side.

Stella fought a very courageous battle with ALS, never losing his great sense of humor.

He was born in Butler on April 23, 1954. He was the fourth child of the late Victor A. and Dorothy L. Sasse.

He had worked at the former Pullman Standard plant, then later he was a carpenter, before retiring.

He enjoyed playing pool, golfing, playing horseshoes, hunting and going to camp, and he was an avid Steelers fan.

Stella is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Kimberly (Diller) Sasse; his brother, Victor “Brow” (Toni) Sasse of Cabot; his sister, Linda Knoch of Marble, Pa.; his sister-in-law, Patti Gorski; his brothers-in law, Dave, Donnie and Charlie Diller; many nieces and nephews; and his cat, Swiffer.

He had great support from Donnie, Brow and friends, Evelyn, Tracy, Mike, Shari, Barry and many other friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dave; and his good friend, Harold Temple.

Kim would like to thank all of the staff at Butler Memorial Hospital who cared for Stella during his last days.

SASSE — Friends of Ricky A. “Stella” Sasse, who died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.

Funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Tim Thoma officiating.
