Free FAFSA Public Meeting to Webcast on Wednesday

Armco Credit Union will host a webinar about Free Application for Federation Student Aid, or FAFSA, at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The event, which welcomes public participation, will focus on reducing the intimidation college students and their families often feel when applying for FAFSA, which offers a gateway for free federal money during college.

Parents of students who plan on attending college throughout the 2023-24 school year should attend, including those of college-bound, current high school seniors.

A college counselor will host the event, called “Filing the FAFSA: The Top 5 FAQ,” and plans to address a range of questions. These will include:

– Why do students need to complete the FAFSA?

– What are the main FAFSA deadlines?

– What are the eight steps of completing the FAFSA?

– What FAFSA updates should students take note of throughout the 2023-24 school year?

To attend this event, register at studentchoice.org/filing-the-fafsa/.
