1:32 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Tyler M. Ellenberger, 16, of Butler turned and struck another car at East Jefferson and North Monroe streets. Ellenberger was cited for making an improper left turn.Kyra J. Hays, 19, of Mars was the other driver. No one was hurt, but cars had to be towed.

11:30 a.m. Sunday — Vehicles driven by Ashley Peters, 29, of Monaca, Beaver County, and Shannon Sasse, 27, of Butler collided on Route 8 south in Bredinville.Monday — Police charged Claude T. Taylor III, 19, of Butler in connection with the suspected shoplifting of $240 worth of merchandise from Walmart in Butler Commons on Dec. 23. Taylor allegedly used a false names when he was caught.In addition to retail theft, Taylor is charged with two counts of false identification to law enforcement authorities.10:45 p.m. Saturday — Davon D. Stevens, 20, of Pittsburgh was arrested after allegedly assaulting a 20-year-old woman during a domestic dispute at her home in the 100 block of Vogel Road. The alleged victim suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment.Stevens, who was placed in Butler County Prison, is charged with simple assault and harassment.4:16 p.m. Friday — Alicia N. Bures, 27, of Butler was arrested after she allegedly used a 7-year-old child to shoplift $338 in merchandise from Walmart in Butler Commons.Bures was arraigned on charges of retail theft, corruption of minors, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and driving without a license. She was placed in Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail, following arraignment.9:18 a.m. Friday — A 15-year-old student is accused of having a knife at Butler Intermediate High School. Police said the boy, who they did not identify, is charged with possession of a weapon on school property.1:04 p.m. Thursday — Vehicles driven by Deborah Dietrich, 62, of Butler and Tina Shick, 33, of Kittanning collided at New Castle and Hindman roads. No one was injured but Dietrich's vehicle had to be towed away.

3:32 p.m. Monday — A car driven by William J. Morgan, 25, of Slippery Rock rear-ended another car on Route 8 just north of Kiester Road in Slippery Rock Township. Police cited Morgan for following too closely to another vehicle and driving with faulty tires. Sharon J. Dubyak, 55, of Slippery Rock was the other driver.Monday — Police reported they are investigating a case of identity theft in which an unknown suspect on Nov. 29 used a Connoquenessing Township's woman's banking information to buy an Apple notebook computer from an online retailer. The computer cost $1,345.6:41 p.m. Sunday — At least one person was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Cranberry Township. The crash happened when vehicles driven by Steven P. Georgiadis, 57, of Mars and Brandie A. Welch, 26, of Evans City collided on Route 228.Seth L. Hartle, a passenger in Welch's vehicle, suffered unknown injuries. Hartle and two children, ages 1 and 2, riding in the same vehicle were taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry. Police did not know if the children were treated for injuries or examined for precautionary reasons.Police cited Georgiadis for making an improper left turn.3:14 p.m. Jan. 25 — A woman was hurt in a one-vehicle rollover crash in Brady Township. The driver, Melanie M. Snider, 321, of Bohemia, N.Y., lost control of her sport utility vehicle on Route 528 just west of Moraine State Park, rolled onto its side and hit a tree.Snider's passenger, Victoria L. Frederick, 23, of Lansdale, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Police cited Snider for disregarding traffic lanes. Slippery Rock volunteer firefighters assisted at the scene.Jan. 7 — Someone vandalized the entrance way decorative tower and a brick retaining wall at Hibachi Buffet at Clearview Mall in Center Township. The property was damaged between 11 p.m. and midnight.Police did not say if they have any suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

6:23 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Gregory J. Cherry, 27, of Freeport was struck by a car that skidded on an ice patch on Route 68 in Limestone Township. Mary J. Reef, 63, of Clarion was driving the car that crossed the center of the road and hit the SUV.
