Ruth I. Wilkin
Ruth I. Wilkin, 82, of The Orchard, North Main Street, Butler, died Monday afternoon at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot.
She was born July 25, 1926, in Butler, a daughter of the late Albert and Irene Shaffer Krick.
A homemaker, Ruth had worked until 1983 as a secretary in the guidance office at Butler Senior High School for more than 10 years.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Butler and the Women's Council of St. Peters.
She enjoyed playing her weekly bridge games.
She was the widow of Charles E. Wilkin. They had married Oct. 16, 1948, and he died Sept. 16, 1992.
Surviving are a son, James C. Wilkin of Meridian; four daughters, Ruth Ann Novak and her husband, Ronald, of Valencia, Wendy Slider (Gary) of New Martinsville, W.Va., Janice Athens (Van) of Mechanicsburg and Rosemary Piskel (Andrew) of Hazelton; two brothers, Clarence "Sonny" Krick of Meridian and David Krick of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Mary Ann (Paul) Merchant of Rochester, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
<B>WILKIN </B> Friends of Ruth I. Wilkin, who died Monday, April 27, 2009, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler. The Rev. Pierre Falkenhan, pastor, will officiate.
