Elizabeth “Betsy” and Robert Kopie

Robert and Elizabeth “Betsy” Kopie of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a renewal of vows Mass at St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church and a dinner and dance at the Tanglewood Center.

Kopie married the former Elizabeth Erdos on June 22, 1963, at St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Butler.

They have two children, Tina Pounds of Alexandria, Va., and Lynn Campbell of Butler.

They also have four grandchildren.

Kopie retired from D.J. Joseph Co. in 1999 after 40 years.

He is a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Mrs. Kopie is a retired secretary.

The Kopies are members of St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church, where Kopie is also an usher.
