3:16 p.m. Monday — Two people were hurt in a three-vehicle crash on Jefferson Street.Police said the accident occurred when a car driven by Timothy Watterson, 23, of Butler struck the rear of a car driven by Evan Wiles, 19, of East Brady, Clarion County.Watterson's car was then rear-ended by a car driven by Krisin Tate, 25, of Butler. Tate suffered minor injuries, while a passenger in Waterson's car, Heidi Watterson, 23, of Butler, suffered moderate injuries.July 13 — Sara Hilgar, 21, was arrested for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend during a domestic dispute at the couple's New Castle Street home. Hilgar is charged with simple assault.
9:40 a.m. Wednesday — An Illinois trucker was injured when his rig crashed on Interstate 80 in Allegheny Township, Butler County.Michael Allarding, 38, of Sycamore was treated for minor injuries at Grove City Medical Center after his northbound tractor-trailer hit a set of guardrails and rolled down an embankment. The rig stopped rolling when it hit several trees.Police said Allarding, who was wearing a seat belt, faces several traffic violations.
5:10 p.m. Wednesday — Two men are suspected of stealing scrap metal valued at $100 from Mile Long Hill in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County. Police did not identify the suspects.
A reported attempted abduction Tuesday in Sandy Lake Township did not happen, according to state police.Investigators determined as unfounded a 10-year-old boy's claim that a man in a pickup truck tried to lure him into the vehicle about 11:30 a.m. on Route 173.Police said there was no conversation between the man and the boy and the only interaction between the two was a wave.
Monday — Someone between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. broke into a vehicle and stole a purse on Breakneck Bridge Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Police said Russell Crics of Cabot owns the car; Jeannie Stewart of Butler owns the purse.
