Kylie Staudt won at No. 1 singles, sparking Seneca Valley’s girls tennis team to a 3-2 win Wednesday over Oakland Catholic.
It was the second straight win for the Raiders.
Also winning for SV were the doubles teams of Lilie McElhinny/Sydney Blucher and Lily Wood/Marlee Jones.
Macrina Robb’s overtime goal lifted Knoch to its first victory of the season, 3-2 over visiting Valley.
Megan Vasas scored Knoch’s first two goals in the first half, one of them assisted by Miranda LaJevic.
Knoch improved to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in section play.
Mercer 4, Slippery Rock 3 — Hannah Plunkard scored two goals and Emily Plyler added one Tuesday night in Slippery Rock’s overtime loss to Mercer.
The Rockets play North Catholic at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Freeport 2, Burrell 0 — Aleah Parison and Crystal Zembrzuski scored for the Yellowjackets (4-0, 2-0).
North Allegheny 4, Butler 3 — The Tigers scored in the final two minutes for the win. Samantha Miller scored two goals for Butler with Maddison Rose adding one. Delaney Yaracs made six saves for the Golden Tornado (1-2, 0-2).
Butler hosts Moon at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Knoch 3, Jeannette 1 — Caleb Oskin scored two goals and Orrin Milcic had a goal and assist in the Knights’ win Tuesday. Anthony Lajevic had two assists in the game.
Hunter Swidzinski continued his strong season with a 34 to lead Butler to a 194-206 victory over Seneca Valley at Slippery Rock Golf Club.
Ryan Porch added a 39 and Wyatt Kos a 40 for the Golden Tornado (7-3, 4-3).
Seneca Valley was led by Dante Rosetti’s 39.

Hockey
Brody Simko scored two goals and Andrew Roskovski one, but Butler dropped a 6-3 decision to Upper St. Clair in the Saint Margaret’s tournament held at Alpha Ice. Grant Holt, Anthony Trombatt and Jack Johnson had assists.
Butler plays Bethel Park at 9:10 p.m. Thursday at Alpha Ice.
