Robert E. Stillwagon, 83, a 47-year resident of 8 Stillwagon Drive, Grove City, Pine Township, Mercer County, died at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday at the Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after an extended illness.

Born Dec. 1, 1925, in Harrisville, he was the son of William Stillwagon and Elsie Hummel.

He married Lois Betty Hillmar on Jan. 10, 1943.

Mr. Stillwagon retired in 1987 from Cooper Energy Services, Grove City, where he was a tool and die maker. He also was a Pennsylvania State constable in Butler County for eight years.

He was affiliated with the East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening and hunting.

Surviving are his wife, Lois, at home; four daughters, Susan Stratos and her husband, Wayne, of Sharon, Jill Irvine of Zelienople, Janet Simpson and her husband, Robert, of Grove City and Joyce Isles and her husband, Donald, of Grove City; three sisters, Shirley Agostino of Harrisville, Delores Lucas and her husband, William, of Grove City and Patricia Flynn of Harrisville; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Rodgers and Irene Kerr; three brothers, Jim and Harold Stillwagon and an infant brother, William; a great-granddaughter, Surrena Lynn Wilson; and a son-in-law, James A. Irvine.

<B>STILLWAGON</B> — Visitation for Robert E. Stillwagon, who died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home Inc.,</B> Grove City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Hoffman, senior pastor of East Main Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Crestview Memorial Park, Inc., Grove City.
