Albert Y. Shrader
Albert Y. Shrader, 92, of Butler passed away Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 26, 1919, in Butler, he was the son of the late Harry and Alice (Welsh) Shrader.
He retired from Spang & Co. after 40 years in the forge shop.
He was a lifetime member of the Thorn Creek United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher and was a Sunday school teacher. He also had a ministry visiting nursing homes, shut-ins and hospitals.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed giving away his homemade Christmas and Easter candy to his friends and family.
Surviving are his nephew and niece, Sam and Amy Lawson and family of Butler, with whom he made his home; many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; his brother-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Ethel Dunlap of Arkansas, Gail Kost of Pennsylvania, Sara June Lawson of Pennsylvania, Donald Baker of California, Glenn Baker of Pennsylvania and Judy Hord of Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Floda (Baker) Shrader, who passed away June 9, 1999; his sister, Helen Shrader; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ruby Dowling of Maryland, Gerrald Baker of Pennsylvania, Earl Baker of Pennsylvania, Lawrence Baker of Pennsylvania, John “Bud” Baker of New York, Roy Baker of Pennsylvania, Robert Baker of Kansas and Olga Mae Baker of Pennsylvania.
<B>SHRADER</B> — Friends of Albert Y. Shrader, who died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Thorn Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kurt Knobel officiating.
