3:24 p.m. Dec. 10 — A vehicle driven by Timothy Voss, 39, of Lincolnwood, Ill., and a vehicle driven by Walter Wailand, 81, of Pittsburgh collided on West Jefferson Street near the South Washington Street intersection. After the impact, Wailand was unable to stop his vehicle, which struck a utility pole and a brick stairway at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church before rolling over. No injuries were reported. Wailand was able to extricate himself from his vehicle.2:23 p.m. Thursday — Jeanne Schuring, 46, of Butler was charged with retail theft after the K-Mart store on Hansen Avenue reported a shoplifter returning merchandise she didn't pay for. Schuring is accused of taking three candy tins, worth a total of $18.97, and returning them with an old receipt.3:17 a.m. Sunday — Dawn Eckstein, 36, of Evans City was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, disregarding the traffic lanes and not having proof of insurance following a traffic stop on Hansen Avenue. Police found one empty beer box, 12 empty beer cans, two empty beer bottles, one unopened beer can and one opened beer can in her vehicle. She refused to take a breath test.

9:55 a.m. Saturday — A van driven by Michael Fudoli, 44, of Butler was traveling on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township when it left the roadway, went down an embankment and hit a tree. He was wearing a seat belt. Fudoli told police he looked away from the road to pick up a dropped cigarette.12:26 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Stephen Black, 18, of Chicora and a truck driven by Jason Rankin, 32, of Parker collided on Route 268 in Fairview Township. Black received moderate injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Black was cited for traveling into the oncoming traffic lane.Dec. 3 — Janice Rearick of Butler reported an unknown vehicle struck her parked car in the Clearview Mall parking lot in Center Township between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.5:55 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Richard Mancu, 28, of Butler was traveling on Kreiss Road when it left the road and struck an Allegheny Power utility pole. Mancu was wearing a seat belt.6:40 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Diane Werling, 57, of Renfrew and a car driven by Clifton Fehl, 28, of Renfrew collided on Route 8 in Penn Township. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department and EMS assisted with traffic control.12:06 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Diane Leiberton, 51, of Sarver was traveling on Winfield Road in Jefferson Township when it left the roadway and struck an Allegheny Power utility pole. Leiberton was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights for treatment of minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.5:20 p.m. Friday — A car driven by a 17-year-old male from Butler was traveling on Thorn Run Road when it left the icy roadway and hit a tree. The driver received minor injuries and was wearing a seat belt.5 p.m. Friday — A truck driven by Christine Haessler, 25, of Monroeville was traveling on Route 58 in Mercer Township when it left the snow-covered road and struck a telephone pole, which split in half. Haessler was wearing a seat belt.2:15 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Mary Rafferty, 40, of Chicora was traveling on Route 68 in Oakland Township when it left the road and hit a utility pole and sign. Rafferty, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.2:50 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by a 17-year-old female was traveling on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township when it struck a guardrail on an exit ramp. The driver was wearing a seat belt.3:07 p.m. Thursday — An SUV driven by William Bialowas, 79, of West Sunbury was traveling on Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township when it struck a guard rail. Bialowas was wearing a seat belt2:40 a.m. Sunday — Cars driven by Lynn Widenhofer, 24, of Natrona Heights and Jeffrey Lassinger, 44, of Sarver collided at the intersection of Deer Creek Road and Route 228 in Clinton Township. The impact sent Lassinger's car into a guardrail. Lassinger, Widenhofer and her two passengers, Brendan Owens, 23, and Destiny Shearer, 25, both of Natrona Heights, received minor injuries. Widenhofer and her passengers were wearing seat belts. Lassinger was not wearing a seat belt. Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company and EMS assisted at the scene. Police report Widenhofer failed to stop at a stop sign before the accident. Police still are investigating the cause.11:10 p.m. Saturday — An SUV driven by Shane Frampton, 20, of Grove City was traveling on Route 8 in Harrisville when it left the road and hit a snow bank and rolled over, sliding about 300 feet before hitting a utility pole. Frampton was wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries. Police said speed was a factor in the crash.6:20 p.m. Saturday — A red pickup truck driven by an unknown male struck a vehicle driven by Gary Schultz, 58, of Butler on Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township. The driver, who then fled the scene, is described as a white man with sandy hair and a moustache in his mid-20s to early 30s. Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 724-284-8100.6:35 p.m. Wednesday — An SUV driven by Adele Christy, age unavailable, of Slippery Rock was traveling on Route 8 in Mercer Township when it hit a deer. Christy was wearing a seat belt.3:45 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Elizabeth McAllister, age unavailable, of Butler was traveling on Route 488 in Muddy Creek Township when it went out of control and hit a stopped car driven by Douglas Linn II, age unavailable, on Pleasant Valley Road. McAllister was cited for not driving at a safe speed.5:20 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Jennifer Rimmer, age unavailable, of Palmyra was traveling on Route 108 in Slippery Rock Township when it spun on the icy road and hit a stopped Jeep driven by Joseph Sudol, age unavailable, of McMurray. Sudol's vehicle stopped after also spinning on the icy road.6:43 p.m. Dec. 11 — A car driven by Adam Blakelock, 18, of Lower Burrell and a car driven by Clarence Wagner, 81, of Cabot collided on Marwood Road in Jefferson Township. The impact occurred as Blakelock's vehicle was spinning counterclockwise.The drivers and two passengers werewearing seat belts.Dec. 11 — An unknown vehicle was reported to have struck a parked 2005 Honda Civic in the Giant Eagle parking lot in Slippery Rock Township between 12:01 a.m. and 2:03 p.m. After an investigation, police determined the accident occurred elsewhere. Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 724-284-8100.Wednesday — Eden Rivers, 45, of Butler reported the theft of several prescription medicines from her Franklin Township residence on Country Club Road between 8 a.m. Tuesday and 5 p.m. Wednesday.Thursday — Jill Powers, 45, of Butler reported the theft of her maroon 1993 Saturn SL1 sedan from the Noah Auto Service parking lot on Route 8 in Center Township between 7:30 a.m. Dec. 12 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 15. Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 724-284-8100.Friday — Bronder Technical Services reported the theft of seven spools of copper wire worth $11,000 from its Franklin Township site on Route 422 between 8 a.m. Thursday and 4:30 a.m. Friday. Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 724-284-8100.6:30 p.m. Friday — Christopher Bialkowski, 19, of Saxonburg was turned over to state police by Butler Township police, who apprehended him at the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Bialkowski had an outstanding warrant for access device fraud. He was jailed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $1,500 bond.Friday — The East Butler Post Office reported an unknown person broke into the outside mailbox, taking the mail and dumping it along East Butler Road. Some mail was opened with the contents removed.

3:20 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Mary DeLuca, age unavailable, of Pittsburgh was traveling on Interstate 79 in Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County, when it spun on the icy roadway and hit a guard rail. She was wearing a seat belt.11:45 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Carole Crim, 31, of Jackson Center was traveling on Route 173 in Wolf Creek Township when it left the road, rolling onto its side. Crim, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to United Community Hospital in Grove City for treatment of minor injuries. She was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.12:11 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Donald Lee Brown, age unavailable, of Pittsburgh was traveling on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township when it left the road and rolled over several times. Brown was not wearing a seat belt and refused treatment for minor injuries he received. Police are investigating the cause.5 p.m. Sunday — A vehicle driven by a Mercer juvenile, age and gender unavailable, was traveling on Oregon Road in Springfield Township when it left the icy road and hit a tree. The driver and a juvenile passenger, also from Mercer, were not injured. A second passenger, also a Mercer juvenile, complained of soreness but refused medical treatment. None of the three were wearing a seat belt. The driver was cited for going too fast for conditions.

4:40 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Benjamin Brinkley, 18, of Worthington was traveling on Old Route 28 in North Buffalo Township when it left the snow-covered roadway, hit an embankment and rolled over. Brinkley was wearing a seat belt.Friday — Sybert's Auto Service on Route 68 in Bradys Bend Township reported its soft drink machine was broken into overnight. The estimated amount of cash stolen is $35. The estimated damage is $100.

11:45 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Alex Hoffman, 28, of Clarion was traveling on Route 368 in Licking Township when it left the roadway and struck a guard rail and went over an embankment, overturning and striking several small trees. Hoffman was wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries.
