Vinca, Burk combine to no-hit Clarion

Sara Vinca and Martina Burk combined for a five-inning no-hitter in Moniteau's 13-0 blanking of Clarion in high school softball action Thursday.

Vinca added a single, triple and two runs batted in while Jenna Beatty scored three runs for the Warriors (12-2).

In other action:

Courtney Grootegoed victimized Hampton pitching for two singles, a triple and two runs batted in as Seneca Valley nipped the Talbots 4-3 in non-section softball action Thursday.

Megan Wise added two base hits for the Raiders (12-4).

Shannon Christie totaled a single and two doubles at the plate, but Rocky Grove scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to knock off Karns City 5-4.
