7:58 p.m. Thursday — Robert Zygarowski, 43, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife at her North Main Street apartment the same day she obtained a protection from abuse order against him.Mariette Zygarowski, 46, told police that earlier in the day she had gotten the PFA that ordered her husband to stay away. But later that evening the defendant was back at their apartment to gather up his property.He is accused of throwing a television set at his wife, which struck her arm and chest and knocked her down. He also allegedly threatened to kill her.Robert Zygarowski is charged with simple assault and indirect criminal contempt.3:14 a.m. Wednesday — Paul Sallach, 47, of Pittsburgh was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 8 South. He was cited for driving with a suspended license and disregarding traffic lanes.
2:15 p.m. Thursday — Cars driven by Melissa George, 18, and Lisa Kries, no age given, both of Butler, collided at Route 8 and Powell Road in Penn Township. Both drivers, wearing seat belts, suffered moderate injuries. The women were treated at Butler Memorial Hospital.9:15 p.m. Tuesday — A suspected burglar ran into woods behind the Rolling Acres Trailer Park in Slippery Rock Township after he was spotted in Marium Smith's mobile home. The unknown suspect was wearing black clothing and a ski mask.Neighbors told police there have been other similar break-ins at the trailer court within the past month.2:32 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Barbara Coble, 61, of Portersvile struck the rear of a tractor-trailer parked on the side of the off-ramp on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Emily Parrish, 12, of Moon Township. Allegheny County, a passenger in the car, was taken with unknown injuries to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.Tuesday — A Kodak Easy Share 700 digital camera, a 12-pack of Corona beer and about $10 in change was taken from the Elmwood Lane home of Michael Vinroe in a burglary between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Sutton Trailer Court in Clay Township. The stolen property is valued at $220.Tuesday — Two Harrisville youths reported their bicycles were stolen between 6:30 and 7 p.m. while they ate inside the Subway restaurant in Harrisville.The stolen bikes are a yellow, 20-inch Hoffman E1 valued at $229, and a white GT Dyno Competition valued at $254.Tuesday — Two boys, who police did not identify, face theft charges for allegedly stealing soda and cash from a pop machine at Butcherine's Beer Distributor in Boyers. The $130 theft occurred between 8 and 10 p.m.Saturday — A thief or thieves uprooted and stole 73 stainless steel fence posts between 10 p.m. July 28 and 4 p.m. Sunday at the William Road home of William Brethauer in Muddy Creek Township.
7:35 a.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by William Bair Jr., 47, of Beaver Falls, Beaver County, and a sport utility vehicle driven by Joseph Louk, 19, of Youngstown, Ohio, collided at Route 65 and Hogue Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.Monday — A pair of purses, a checkbook, two cell phones, a book bag and clothing were taken between 2:15 and 5:30 p.m. from an unlocked car on Frew Mill Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.The car's gas cap was also swiped. The stolen property is valued at $590.
