Shever 100th birthday
Janet Shever of Concordia at The Orchard will celebrate her 100th birthday with an open house from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday in the social hall at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St. The family requests no gifts be given.
The former Janet Henshaw was born April 26, 1912, in Connoquenessing. She married the late Blair Shever on April 26, 1937, at the groom’s parents’ house in Butler, followed by a meal in the bride’s house.
She has four daughters, Shirley Lyon of Meridian, Karen Grosclaude of Prospect, Joyce Kopp of The Woodlands, Texas, and Janice Steffenhauer of Bloomsburg. Another daughter, Delores Horan, is deceased. She also has 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Shever is a homemaker and a member of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church.
