Wells 100th birthday
Edna G. Wells of Concordia Haven III in Jefferson Township will celebrate her 100th birthday Thursday.
She was born in Derry on March 21, 1919. She married Joseph L. Frantz on Feb. 17, 1941, in Wellsburg, W.Va. After her first husband passed away, she married Clair L. Wells on Sept. 21, 1962, and lived in Elderton until five years ago.
She has three daughters, D. Kaye Crownover of Lower Burrell, the late Karen J. Bonner and Patricia S. Throckmorton of Ford City.
She has four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Besides being a homemaker, Wells was a secretary in the Elderton School District and then became a teller at the Elderton State Bank.
She is a member of the Elderton Presbyterian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Elderton Fireman’s Auxiliary.
She enjoys reading.
