Bessie M. Daugherty Tirk, 92, of Brown Road, Butler, entered peacefully into her eternal rest at 4:15 p.m. Friday at the home of her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Tracy and John Saul, surrounded by her family.

She was born Jan. 31, 1917, in Langloth, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Charles A. Daugherty and Laurissa Virtue Daugherty.

Mrs. Tirk was a homemaker and a member of the Butler Assembly of God Church.

She was married to William M.E. Tirk on Feb. 21, 1933. He preceded her in death May 25, 1993.

She is survived by three sons, William E. Tirk, George R. Tirk and his wife, Mary, and Joseph L. Tirk and his wife, Kay, all of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Jane Waldenmyer and her husband, Ronald, and Mrs. Reta Shuler and her husband, James, both of Butler; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

<B>TIRK</B> — Friends of Bessie M. Daugherty Tirk, who died Friday, July 3, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 124 E. North St. Funeral services will follow at 9 p.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. George Miller, of the Butler Assembly of God Church, officiating.
