Hunter Swidzinski carded a 3-under-par 32 Wednesday at Shannopin Country Club as Butler defeated North Hills, 191-124, in golf action.
Ryan Porch contributed a 37 and Wyatt Kos a 39 for the Golden Tornado (3-3, 5-3). Joe Frisco and Peter Lukac led North Hills with a 453 each while Josh Kim shot 45.
Freeport 211, Burrell 234 — Nate Covey and Lillie Snow both carded 41 Wednesday as Freeport remained unbeaten this season with this triumph over Burrell at River Forest Country Club.
Tucker Bitar was medalist with a 39 for the Bucs.
The Yellowjackets improved to 7-0 overall, 6-0 in section matches.

North Allegheny 198, Seneca Valley 205 — Lucas Bruns and Tyler Garvin both shot 39 for the Raiders. Dante Rossetti carded a 41, Marcos Lopez 42 and Payton Brown 44.
Girls Golf
Led by Emma Covert and Mariska Shunk, Moniteau placed first in a Mega Match at Hi-Level Golf Course Wednesday. Both of those girls shot 44, while Autumn Stewart carded a 49 and Kendall Sankey a 52.
The Warriors finished with a 137, while second-place Cranberry had a 140 and third-place Keystone had a 187.
Butler 202, Shaler 241 — Paige Ponteous led the Golden Torbnado with a 48. Butler takes on Mars and Fox Chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hiland Golf Course.

Cross Country
Karns City’s Griffin Booher completed the course in 18 minutes, 27 seconds, to win the boys race for the Gremlins against North Clarion. No team scores were kept.
The Gremlins’ Taylor Dailey finished second to North Clarion’s Katie Bauer with a 25:58 in the girls race. Karns City’s Noah Weiland and Meghan Hartle were the respective boys and girls winners in the junior high race.
Girls Volleyball
Butler (2-0) hosted West Middlesex, winning the match in four sets by scores of 25-12, 25-16, 22-25, and 25-18.
Setter Ava Plunkard piled up 27 assists, along with eight aces and two kills. Audrey Lehman added eight kills and a block, while Brynn Morton had six kills and seven digs.
The Golden Tornado will host a tournament on Saturday at 8 a.m.
Hickory 3, Slippery Rock 2 — Anora Robare led the Rockets with 17 assists and six blocks in this 12-25, 25-17, 9-25, 25-18, 12-15 loss Tuesday. Virginia Recchia had 15 digs, Molly Bissel eight kills for Slippery Rock.
The Rockets host Lakeview Thursday night.
Hockey
Brody Simko scored three goals and Andrew Roskovski added one as Butler defeated Chartiers Valley, 4-1, in preseason action at the Frozen Pond. E.J. Delaney stopped 29 of 30 shots on goal.
Butler will play in the St. Margaret’s Tournament next week. Games are at 7 p.m. Tuesday vs. Armstrong and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday vs. Upper St. Clair at Alpha Ice in Harmarville.
Girls Tennis
Butler won its section opener, sweeping the singles matches en route to a 4-1 victory over Seneca Valley.
The Golden Tornado play Thursday at North Hills.
