Lumley

Jean Claudette Lumley, 72, of Main Street, Petrolia, died at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday at her home after an illness.

Born in Bruin, Jan. 23, 1936, she was a daughter of Ward B. and Eleanor K. Jackson Michael.

She was a Protestant and was a member of the last graduating class of Bruin High School, the Class of 1953.

Mrs. Lumley enjoyed Duke University basketball, baking and tending to her family.

She was a hard worker all her life and was employed at Banks Big B Market on Oneida Valley Road, the Meadow Lake Manor, Sambos and Eat 'n Park, all in Butler, and catered many events for Banks Market.

On June 24, 1972, she married Robert E. Lumley Sr. in Winchester, Va. He survives along with two sons, Thomas B. Kusick and his wife, Lee Ann, of Karns City and William M. Kusick and his wife, Elaine, of Chicora; a daughter, Michelle R. McFadden and her husband, Tim, of Hilliards; a stepson, Robert E. Lumley Jr. of Karns City; two stepdaughters, Pamela MacKay of Cabot and Margaret Hemphill of Manorville; nine grandchildren; six sisters, Norma Mainero of Gilbert, Ariz., Louise Dutcher of Mesa, Ariz., Peg Corbett and her husband, Herman, of Butler, Joan Keapps and her husband, Samuel, of Indian Mound, Tenn., Janice Brown and her husband, David, of West Lawn and Pamela Gobbel and her husband, Tim, of Laurel, Md.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Dean Kusick in 1964; a stepson, Sgt. Joseph G. Kusick, killed in action Nov. 8, 1967, in Vietnam; and three brothers, Robert, Kim and Ronald Michael.

<B>LUMLEY </B>— Friends of Jean Claudette Lumley, who died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Richard d. Hillis funeral home </B>in Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Rowe, retired Presbyterian pastor, officiating.
