Cararie 50th anniversary
Robert and Gretchen Cararie of Valencia celebrated 50 years of marriage with an Aug. 24 family dinner at the home of their son Anthony.
Cararie married the former Gretchen Smith on Aug. 30, 1969, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
They have three children, Joseph Cararie of Washington, Anthony Cararie of Valencia and the late Catherine Cararie. They also have four grandchildren.
Cararie is a retired civil engineer with Penn State University and the University of Illinois.
He is a member of Guatemalan Missions, Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul and the Butler Chapter of Pennsylvanians for Human Life.Mrs. Cararie is a retired dietitian/diabetes educator with Carnegie Mellon University and Carlow College.She is a member of Ladies of Charity, Woman's Club of Southern Butler County, Guatemalan Missions and the Butler Chapter of Pennsylvanians for Human Life.The Cararies are members of Holy Sepulcher Church, Middlesex Township.
