Edith and Ray Atkinson

Ray and Edith Atkinson of Meridian celebrated 74 years of marriage with a family dinner.

Atkinson married the former Edith Domhoff on Sept. 29, 1945, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Zelienople.

They have four children, Rose Vaughn of Slippery Rock, Darlene Blinn of Lansing, Mich., and Raymond J. Atkinson and David Atkinson, both of Butler.

They also have six grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Atkinson retired from Spang and Co. of Butler where he worked as a cable tool sales coordinator.He was a Navy pharmacist's mate medic attached to the Second Marine Division.Mrs. Atkinson retired from VA Butler Healthcare where she worked as a nursing associate.The Atkinsons are members of Christ Community Methodist Church in Butler Township.
