3 Butler pension plans pass audit
Pennsylvania Auditor General Timothy L. DeFoor reported Wednesday no findings that did not comply with state regulations in his office’s review of three Butler pension plans.
A news release from the Department of the Auditor General said the Butler Firefighters’ Pension Plan, the City of Butler Officers and Employees’ Pension Plan, and the City of Butler Police Pension Plan were audited for the period of January 2020 to December 2021.
Audits on municipal pension plans are performed by the office routinely to ensure they are operating within state laws, according to the news release.
“Our audits make sure state pension aid is used as required by law, which helps to reduce financial burdens on local taxpayers,” DeFoor said.
