Shoemaker 60th anniversary
Donald and Amber Shoemaker of Sarver celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, friends and family are encouraged to reach out to the couple via cards and phone calls to celebrate their day.
Shoemaker married the former Amber Blair on April 23, 1960, at Waugh Methodist Church in Washington, D.C.
They have three children, Donald Shoemaker of Fenelton, Daniel Shoemaker of Freeport, and Valerie Shoemaker Shaw of Saxonburg.
They also have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Shoemaker worked as a carpenter at Pullman Standard until it closed and then retired from Trinity.
He served four years in the aviation branch of the U.S. Navy, retiring from the Air National Guard with 20 years of service.
Mrs. Shoemaker was a secretary for the federal government in Washington, D.C., and retired from Harmarville Rehab with 20 years of service, holding positions as an RN unit manager and RNAC nurse.
The Shoemakers are members of Buffalo United Presbyterian Church in Sarver.
