RELIGIOUS ROUNDUP

CHRISTIAN PRAISE AND WORSHIP

The Rev. James Berkebile will be guest minister at 10 a.m. July 10 and 17 at Christian Praise and Worship Church, Route 68 east in Bradys Bend. Berkebile is finishing his ministry education at Susquehanna Valley Ministry Center.

The women's low-impact fitness class meets at 9 a.m. on Thursdays. The program also includes beginner's line dancing. All women of the community are invited to attend.

Bible Exploration has been cancelled for July but will resume at 7 p.m. Wednesdays in August.

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The Chancel Choir of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will provide music for the Sunday worship service at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Blood pressure screenings will follow all three weekend worship services.

Members of the mission team will be leaving Sunday for an eight-day trip to the Dominican Republic to provide dental services and reconstruction of a school building.

Members are needed to act as shepherds for the children at Camp Creation Vacation Bible School at Island Playground from 4 to 7 p.m. during the week of July 18. Donations of home-baked cookies are also requested and should be brought to the church on July 18.

The food items being collected during the month of July are peanut butter and jelly.

CHRIST OUTREACH

The Rev. Barry Bohney will be guest speaker July 9 and 10 at Christ Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.

On July 10, the special music will be provided by Tammy Summers.

On June 24, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Price attended the 29th Quadrennial Nazarene General Assembly in Indianapolis. Two new Nazarene general superintendents were elected: Nina Gunter, the first woman elected; and J.K. Warrick, a Nazarene pastor from Kansas.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated during the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. The Rev. William Jamieson will be the guest preacher at the 10 a.m. service.

The Shirt Painting Class will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Fellowship Hall.

FIRST BAPTIST

The Rev. Walter Bush, veteran church-planting missionary to Honduras, will be the featured speaker at 7 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St. He is affiliated with Baptist Mid-Missions, in Cleveland.

The church will be among congregations involved in junior camp at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Slippery Rock from July 11 to 16. The camp is for those in fourth through sixth grades. Registration will be at 11 a.m. Monday.

FIRST UNITED METHODIST

God's Country Band will rehearse at 4 p.m. Saturday in the sanctuary at

First United Methodist Church 200 E. North St.

The Ground Zero youth group will have a lake party on Sunday. For information, call Doug Raraigh at the church office.

The 29 & Holding small group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Annex.

GIGGLE small group will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the Annex Upper Room.

Rock Solid Boys Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the FROGS room.

SPRC will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Pastor Panther's study.

The Redemption Riders motorcycle group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the conference room. The group will go on a dessert ride July 15. The group will meet at 6 p.m. in the church parking lot.

Jacob's Blessing, a support group for parents of autistic children, will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the bridal room.

The book club will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Dickson Room.

The Crossfire band will rehearse at 6:30 p.m. July 14 and 21 in Epworth Center.

GLADE RUN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Communion will be celebrated at both Sunday services at Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia.

The mission team will be leave the church at 8:30 a.m. Saturday for the East Liberty Soup Kitchen. Anyone wanting to help is invited.

There will be a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday for all senior high youth going on the mission trip.

There will be no youth group on Sunday evenings during July.

July is Glade Run's month to provide desserts for Meals-on-Wheels. Needed items are brownies, cookies, cupcakes, cakes, etc. A signup sheet is in the church kitchen.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

A prayer shawl ministry will be started at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St. The ministry's purpose is to give the gift of prayer while knitting or crocheting shawls for others. An informational meeting will follow the 10 a.m. Sunday service.

Grace @ Calvary will lead Camp Creation on The Island July 11 through 15. Camp is held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

GRACEWAY COMMUNITY

Amber Crowe will provide special music for the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service at GraceWay Community Church, which meets in the Heritage Room at the Days Inn on Route 8.

Supervised care for children will be available.

HARVEST ASSEMBLY OF GOD

George Bender, former pastor of Harvest Assembly of God, 160 Brownsdale Road, will be the guest speaker at the 10 a.m. Sunday service.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

The Community Vacation Bible School Team will be commissioned for local mission service at the 10 a.m. Sunday worship celebration at New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch School Auditorium, 345 Knoch Road, Saxonburg.

Son-LIFE Sunday school will not meet Sunday.

NORTH MAIN STREET CHURCH OF GOD

The Women of the Church of God of North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Extension, will meet at 6 p.m. today at Butler Memorial Park at the round shelter behind the baseball field. Please bring a tureen to share. Drinks will be provided.

The Rev. Dave Brown's Wednesday Night Bible Study will hold a picnic and campfire at 6 p.m. Friday at McGowan's Farm in Prospect

The young adults will hold a cookout and swim party at the Plaisted residence at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The youth will leave for their mission trip to Church on the Street in Atlanta at 3 p.m. Sunday. They will return July 17.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

The Hutchison family will be the guests for Sunday worship service at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars. Because of the special nature of their presentation, worship will be held inside.

ST. JOHN'S UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

The summer schedule is in place for this Sunday's services at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St. in Evans City.

Practice for the 8:35 Alive service will be held tonight at 7 p.m.

Summer book study is held in the narthex at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

ST. PETER'S EPISCOPAL

Music rehearsals for the Healing Service at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St., will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday and from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

The Healing Service with Holy Communion will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The Daughters of the King will meet at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

ST. RICHARD ROMAN CATHOLIC

The Charismatic Prayer Groups of the Pittsburgh Diocese are sponsoring a Celebration of Praise for the Year of the Eucharist from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia. Deacon Bill Strathnian will be the music and worship leader and the Rev. Fred Byrne, O.B.S. will be the homilist. Eucharistic Adoration and prayer teams will be available following the worship service.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated during 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. services Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive.

Trinity's youth will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wendy's at Clearview Mall.

The movie "Luther" will be shown in the fellowship hall after the Saturday service. A discussion will be moderated by Pastor Pierotti.

The all-church picnic will be held following the 11 a.m. service. Mentors and their confirmation students will attend the picnic and participate in a Scripture scavenger hunt from 1 to 3 p.m.

Powdered drink mixes are the item being collected for the Community Food Cupboard this month.

TRINITY PRESBYTERIAN

The Rev. Jim Mohr of Westminster College will be guest speaker Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave.

The Brown Bag Bible Study occurs at noon on Wednesdays in Fellowship Hall.

Trinity Fellowship will meet at 6 p.m. July 13 at Garden Gate Restaurant. Reservations are due by July 10.

The Mission Yearbook order deadline is July 15. Cost is $5.25. Place orders at the church office.
