Glenn O. Conklin, 84, of Penn Township died Sunday at his home in Butler.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Rhoda Jane Miley, who died March 23, 2006.

He was born in Natrona Heights to the late Glenn L. and Susan B. (Fife) Conklin.

Mr. Conklin was a qualified sharpshooter in the Air Force, serving from 1945 to 1949, and he took part in the Berlin Airlift.

Mr. Conklin was a truck driver and a member of the American Legion Post 117.

Glenn enjoyed playing country music and performed with Bud Conklin and the Road Runners.

He is survived by his children, Cindy (Jack) J. Muska of Renfrew, Linda (Denny) L. Mitchell of Valencia, Glenn (Bernadette) O. Conklin Jr. of Butler, Gail (Bob) K. Rylands of Allison Park and Michael A. Conklin of Butler; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
