Jake Tomasovic and Matt Bartley scored two goals each as Butler's freshman hockey team defeated Pine-Richland, 6-4, to place third in the recent Showcase Tournament.

Ben Beers added a goal and assist, Dominic Oliver had a goal, Cody Blum had two assists and Corey Chuba had one.

Butler finished the season 8-15-1, with 11 losses coming by a one-goal margin. Beers was the team captain and lone ninth-grader. The Golden Tornado roster had four eighth-graders, eight seventh-graders and two sixth-graders.

Other players on the roster included forwards Mitchell Cunningham, Zach Dunkle, Derek Ritenour, Marc Strange and Matt Stirling, defensemen Levi Rodgers and Jake Whann, goaltenders Mike Arturo and Jerimiah Elsass.
