The Winterses in 1951

Richard and Virginia Winters of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage with a family gathering.

Winters married the former Virginia Kriley on Sept. 8, 1951, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

They have eight children, Paul Winters, Thomas Winters, Sandra Norris, Kenneth Winters, Judith Zarnick, Kathleen Masartis, Mary Etzel and William Winters, all of Butler.

They also have 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Winters is retired from Pullman Standard. He was also a brick and stonemason.Mrs. Winters is a homemaker. She is a member of the St. Paul Catholic Women and Christian Mothers' Guild and a member of South Butler Township Ladies' Auxiliary.The Winterses are members of St. Paul Church.
