12:24 a.m. Saturday — Charles McCarren, 22, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after a minor crash at South Chestnut and West Cunningham streets. Police said that despite two flat tires apparently caused by the crash, McCarren drove his car about three miles into Butler Township, where he was arrested.

9:13 a.m. Monday — A7-year-old was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital with a head injury suffered in a two-vehicle crash at Whitestown andSouth Eberhart roads.Police said the crash occurred when asport utility vehicle driven by Myrle Dusheck, 35, and a minivan driven by Nicolaos Mandalas, 60, both of Butler collided at the intersection.Meridian volunteer firefighters helped police free two passengers — the 7-year-old and Karen Mandalas, 59, of Butler — from the van. Police said Karen Mandalas was treated for moderate injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital. The child's condition was not known this morning.5:26 p.m. Sunday — Vehicles driven by David Ashenden, 18, and Georgine Lyons, 49, both of Butler, collided on Meridian Road near Whitestown Road. Lyons' vehicle struck a concrete block wall after the collision. Police said Lyons was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.2:50 a.m. Sunday — James Raith, 42, of Valencia was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 68 at Point Plaza.

Friday — Two people, including one wanted on a felony warrant out of Allegheny County, were arrested for driving under the influence, during a roving DUI detail in the county.Task force officers stopped 40 vehicles and, in addition to the DUI arrests, cited two people for underage drinking and another for furnishing alcohol to minors; 10 traffic citations were also issued.

7:25 p.m. Monday — Stephen E. Weber, 45, of Meadville, Crawford County, was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 8 in Penn Township. Police also cited Weber for failing to yield the right of way.4:25 p.m. Monday — Asport utility vehicle driven by Hanna Ramsey, no age given, of Butler and a truck driven by Delmont Zahniser, no age given, of Hermitage, Mercer County, collided on Ridge Road in Franklin Township. Police cited Ramsey for illegal entering or crossing a road.9:39 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Michael Minskey, 17, of Erie crashed into an embankment on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township. Police cited Minskey for driving too fast for conditions.Monday — Scrap metal valued at $785 was stolen overnight from Stanzione Scrap and Metal on Brewer Road in Clinton Township.

Monday — Acompact disc case containing about 50 CDs, a blanket and collectible sports cards were stolen between 10 p.m. Sunday and 5 p.m. Monday in a burglary at the Main Street apartment of Cynthia Weber in Rimersburg, Clarion County.
