2:50 a.m. Sunday — James Martin Hynes, 37, of Cowansville, Armstrong County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was a found sleeping in a vehicle in the parking lot of the McDonald's restaurant, Clearview Mall in Center Township.5:20 p.m. Friday — A West Virginia man was hurt when he fell out of a Jeep during the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival convoy of antique military-style vehicles on Route 422 in Franklin Township.The accident happened when Donald L. Grimm. 59, of Washington, Pa., swerved and abruptly stopped his 1943 Jeep to avoid stopped traffic in front of him about two-tenths of a mile west of Pflugh Road. Julius L. Lorentzson, 63, of Fairmont, W.Va., a passenger in Grimm's vehicle, tumbled out of his seat onto the road.Lorentzson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.2:03 p.m. Friday — Donald W. Gold, 54, of Mars lost control of his cement truck when a front tire blew out, and the vehicle struck an embankment on Route 8 just north of Sutherland Road in Mercer Township.4:4 p.m. Thursday — A pickup truck driven by Emily R. Enterline, 22, of Dayton, Armstrong County, struck a guardrail on Route 308 just south of Byers Road in Center Township.Thursday — A company's white, 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck was stolen from the 800 block of Saxonburg Road in Jefferson Township. The truck, owned by Brayman Construction of Saxonburg, was taken between 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and 1:30 a.m. Thursday. The pickup has the company name on its side.June 10 — Police filed a felony count of access device fraud against Nikolas A. Gaillot, 35, of Jefferson Township stemming from his alleged unauthorized use of a Center Township man's bank debit card this year. Gaillot is accused of using the card to make $4,221 in automated teller machine withdrawals and purchases at stores in the Butler area.4:13 p.m. June 3 — A car driven by Amy C. Lanshcak, 41, of Grove City and a sport utility vehicle driven by Paul F. Staff, 73, of Butler collided at Route 58 and North Church Street in Harrisville. Staff, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury. Lanshcak was cited for a stop sign violation.
11:14 p.m. Saturday — Brandon A. Schreckengost, 20, of Rimersburg was hurt when the car he was driving struck and sheared off a utility pole along Oak Grove Road just west of Sawmill Hill Road in Toby Township. Schreckengost, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.Schreckengost, who fled the scene, was cited for careless driving.Saturday — Police are investigating a wreck that happened when a car driven by Bradon Keene, no age given, of Parker was rear-ended by another car in Perry Township, Clarion County.Keene had just passed the other car, driven by Colin Martinez, no age given, of Pittsburgh, when he returned to his lane of travel on Route 368 near Doc Walker Road and slammed on his brakes, according to a police report. Martinez was unable to avoid it in time and hit the back of Keene's car.
8:30 p.m. Saturday — A white man reportedly tried to abduct a 6-year-old boy in Perry Township, Lawrence County.The boy was playing on a swing set in his yard on Line Street when a man approached the child and began to speak to him. The boy told authorities he became scared and attempted to run into his home but the unknown man grabbed the child by the back of his shirt.The child managed to break free and ran into his house while the man fled through neighboring yards.The suspect is described as 30 to 40 years old, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium build. He has light or blond hair, a beard, and a skeleton tattoo with three letters on a forearm. The boy told police that the man was wearing a T-shirt and shorts.Anyone with information about the reported attempted child abduction is asked to call police at 724-598-2211.
