Erma Irene Robinson
Erma Irene Robinson, 67, of September Drive, Butler, died at 7:07 p.m. Thursday in the Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born July 1, 1941, in Chicora, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Byers and the late Freda Goldinger.
Mrs. Robinson was a member of the First United Methodist Church, which she joined in 1962, served on committees and boards and volunteered weekly in the office.
She retired in 1999 from Butler County Community College as the secretary to the dean of students. She has served as secretary to the dean of men at Slippery Rock University, secretary for American Hardware, secretary at Butler Savings and Trust, a substitute secretary for the Butler School District and also was a secretary at the employment office of Butler County.
She was a member of Junior Women's Club, served on the boards of the Salvation Army, YWCA, Junior Miss and multiple reunion committees.
Mrs. Robinson enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid follower of Butler and Karns City basketball. She enjoyed bus trips with family and friends as well as visiting casinos throughout the United States.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by her husband, Lyle Robinson, who she married July 1, 1961; one daughter, Christie Galcik and her husband, Larry, of Prospect; one son, Corey Robinson and his wife, Jennifer, of Butler; five grandchildren: Zachary, 13; Garrett, 6; Brody, 4; Brett, 4; and Tyler, 5; a brother, Dean Byers and his wife, the late Jeanne, of Chicora; a sister-in-law, Myrna and her late husband, Joseph, Burkhard of Petrolia, a brother-in-law, Gerald Robinson and his wife, Dixie, of Butler; a brother-in-law, James Robinson and his wife, Brenda, of Erie; and a number of nieces and nephews.
<B>ROBINSON</B> — Friends of Erma Irene Robinson, who died Thursday, June 18, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., Butler, with the Rev. Dr. J. David Panther of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 200 E.
