CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.

The fall schedule of worship at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, begins with services at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday Blood pressure screenings will follow all services.

Sunday School Rally Day Kaleidoscope kickoff begins at 9:45 a.m. Sunday on the church lawn. Heads of ministry will wear hats to represent their activities in the church. Flyers will be distributed and members will be able to volunteer to assist in the various areas of activities. Ice cream will be served. Adults will be able to register for Sunday school classes that begin Sept. 18.

The Little Red Church will be on the altar during weekend services to receive donations for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Health Kit donations should be packaged and brought to the church or may be purchased for a $12 donation. A list of needed food and clothing items will be distributed.

Sunday will be the final day for the Diaper Drive to benefit Butler County Catholic Charities. Disposable diapers and baby toiletry items are needed.

The youth group will begin its fall activities with a Hot Dog Roast from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Participants should take a dish and drink to share. Hot dogs and s'mores will be provided.

Disciple I orientation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Children's Choir registration will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Children from age 5 through sixth grade are invited. Practices are scheduled for Tuesday evenings.

Senior Dry Bone Posse for youth in ninth through 12th grades will meet at the Hiser residence from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays beginning this week.

Junior Dry Bone Posse for youth in seventh and eighth grades will meet at the Chwalik residence from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays beginning Sept.15.

The church council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for an organizational and planning session.

Fortieth anniversary souvenir items are on display in the narthex. Order forms and payment may be returned to the church office.

Flour and rice are being collected for the food cupboard during September.

COVENANT PRESBY

Welcome Back Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will begin with a continental breakfast in the Assembly Room at 9 a.m. Sunday.

The Seekers Adult Sunday School Class will resume at 9:45 a.m. Sunday.

Sunday school for children and youth will resume at 9:45 a.m. Sunday.

The worship service returns to 11 a.m. on Sunday and the newly refurbished library learning center will be dedicated.

The Welcome Back Luncheon will be held after the Sunday worship service.

FAITH U.P.

Sunday school will resume at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main St.

A catered fellowship meal will be held after Sunday service. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for students in elementary school and free for children in preschool.

FENELTON U.M.

Rally Day and Grandparents Day will be celebrated Sunday at Fenelton United Methodist Church, Fenelton. The service will begin at 11 a.m.

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will be among congregations participating in the annual ladies' fall retreat from 5 p.m. Friday through 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Slippery Rock. Polly Strong, a former Baptist Mid-Missions missionary to the Central African Republic, will be the featured speaker.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

Fall worship hours at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., begin Sunday with worship at 8:30 and 11 a.m.

A healing service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Red Cross will hold a series of training sessions from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Sept. 27 and 28 for those wanting to work with families, shelters and damage assessment. Training is free. To register call 724-283-2378 or 724-285-4659.

FIRST PRESBY

The Sunday morning schedule at First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, Route 8 at Heckert Road, will have a contemporary service at 8:45 a.m., Christian education at 10 a.m. and a traditional service at 11 a.m. The Café will be open from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Sundays.

Rally Day will be held this Sunday. All participants in adult, youth and children's Christian education will gather in the sanctuary before being sent to their respective classes.

New Connections for visitors will begin with an initial class from 10 to noon on Sept. 17. The class will then meet at 10 a.m. Sunday mornings. Those who wish to become members of the church will be received into membership on Oct. 23.

In cooperation with Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, the church, a satellite location of the seminary, will offer the seminary level course, "Man and Woman in the Old Testament" with Donald Gowan. Classes will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 5, 12, 19 and 26 in Fellowship Hall. The classes are open to the public. Registration is required. For information, contact Ted Martin at 724-443-1555.

GLADE RUN U.P.

Sunday is Rally Day at Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia. Communion will be celebrated at both services.

A special Sunday school elective entitled, "Discover the Love of Your Life All Over Again," will begin Sunday.

The deacons will sponsor a blood drive from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in Fellowship Hall.

Old cell phones are being collected by the youth of the church. Proceeds will benefit youth programs.

Information on small groups, which are continuing or starting new, is available in the church office or in the Action Center.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Rally Day will be celebrated Sunday at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St. Sunday school will begin at 9 a.m. with camp songs and tie dyeing in the social room. Youth should take a washed a dried white T-shirt to dye.

Sunday school teachers will be installed at the 10 a.m. Sunday service.

The older youth group will now meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Sundays. The Faith Shapers youth group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. every second and fourth Wednesday.

The older youth group will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the home of the Rev. Timothy Bupp to discuss plans for the coming year. The group will also meet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Wendy's in Center Township for a car wash.

A youth concert will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Tickets are $5 in advance or $6 at the door.

The bowling league will begin at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Bon Aire Bowl and will meet every other Sunday. For information, contact the church office.
