Joan Kunz, 82, of Butler passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Born in Millvale, May 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Catherine Mullen Betzold.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the Christian Mothers of St. Anthony in Millvale.

She is survived by two sons, William G. Kunz and his wife, Janet, of Pittsburgh and Eric T. Kunz and his wife, Diane, of Butler; and two daughters, Denise Kunz of Harmony and Diane Warrene and her husband, Charles, of Butler. She also is survived by Mary Phillips, whom she loved as a daughter; nine grandchildren, Daniel and Myshel Stoltenberg Steve, Christopher and Benjamin Warrene, Gretchen and William G. Kunz III and Joshua and Abigail Kunz; and five great-grandchildren, Derek Stoltenberg, Emily, Alexander and Magnolia Warrene and Abigail Kunz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Kunz Sr., who passed away Dec. 14, 2003.

<B>KUNZ</B> — Friends of Joan Kunz, who died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.Members of the St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:35 a.m. Friday at the church to recite the rosary.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
