Carl Follmer
Carl Wayde Follmer, 89, of New Sewickley Township, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 11, 2022.
He was born on July 5, 1933, in Harrisburg, and was the son of the late Harry and Ann Follmer. He was raised in Carverton, Pa.
Carl proudly served in the 330th Communication Reconnaissance Company in the U.S. Army Security Agency during the Korean War.
Following his military service, he worked at the Neville Chemical Company and the Fuller Brush Company. He later worked as a farrier for 18 years before starting his own business, Sunspot Farms Building and Fencing.
Carl enjoyed raising and showing Appaloosa horses, hunting with his son and friends and attending Pittsburgh Steelers games with his wife.
He served as chairman of the New Sewickley Zoning Hearing Board for 35 years (1973 to 2008).
Carl and his wife, Wilma, made many special memories vacationing with family at Walt Disney World and hosting “Camp Grandpa” for their four grandchildren.
Carl was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Wilma, who passed away in 2013.
He is survived by his sister, Cleo Jean Morgan of Palm Bay, Fla.; a son, Carl William Follmer (Mary Jo) of New Sewickley; and a daughter, Ruth Ann Santulli (Bill) of Tinton Falls, N.J.
Carl also is survived by his four grandchildren, whom he treasured and loved deeply, Molly Peredo (Carlos) of Ohio, Kelly Kochick (Ryan) of New Sewickley Township, Michael Santulli (Katherine) of Austin, Texas, and Alexandra Santulli of St. Louis, Mo.; and one great-grandson, Finlay James “Finn” Kochick.
FOLLMER — Visitation for Carl Wayde Follmer, who died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022, at BOYLAN-GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, at Dutilh United Methodist Church, 1270 Dutilh Road, Cranberry Township.
