2:37 a.m. Saturday — Joseph Hanchosky, 44, of Butler was charged with driving under the influence and multiple traffic violations following a traffic stop on Whitestown Road in Connoquenessing Township.11:37 p.m. Friday — Kenneth Bracken, 40, of Butler was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 422 in Summit Township.9:18 p.m. Friday — Lee McKain, 30, of Butler was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a vehicle accident on Route 38 in Center Township. McKain's car hit a utility pole on the northbound side of the road. No injuries were reported. The Unionville and Oneida Valley volunteer fire departments assisted state police.6:31 p.m. Friday — Ashley Marie Young, no age given, of Butler was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 19 in Cranberry Township.Friday — Someone entered Bryan Thompson's residence at 272 Hannahstown Road in Jefferson Township through an unlocked door and left without stealing or damaging anything between noon and 3:30 p.m. Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 724-284-8100.12:55 a.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by Douglas Pennington, 28, of Parker hit an embankment off Route 38 in Washington Township before rolling several times. He was wearing a seat belt and received a minor leg injury. Pennington was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and several traffic violations.9:30 p.m. Thursday — David Perri, 46, of Butler was arrested for simple assault and harassment following a dispute with Maria McKay, 35, at 108 Hoffman Lane in Connoquenessing Township.12:45 p.m. Thursday — Daniel J. Slater, 19, of Saxonburg was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at Saxony Estates on West Red Oak Court.Thursday — Someone stole a yellow steel wagon from George Kovalchick's property on Valvoline Drive in East Butler between 10 a.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday.Thursday — Someone stole a Sony DVD player, a television, a Samsung digital camera, a Dell computer and $350 in cash from the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority house at 347 Harmony Road in Slippery Rock Township between 10 p.m. Wednesday and noon Thursday.11 p.m. Dec. 24 — Shon C. Wagner, 35, of Slippery Rock was charged with driving under the influence and public drunkenness after allegedly entering Kathy Garner's house at 371 Ralston Road before trying to enter her vehicle with the key to his own car. Police found Wagner passed out in his running vehicle.October — State police are investigating potential identity theft and forgery in which the personal information of Ashley Bodish, 22, of Boyers was used to obtain various unpaid services between April 2004 and October 2006.
Nov. 17 — Susan Mathieson of Mercer was charged with writing a bad check of an unspecified amount to Joe's Service Station in Volant and on Oct. 5 of writing a bad check of an unspecified amount to Walt's Golden Dawn store on Greenville Road in Mercer.Sept. 10 — Melissa Dawn Zahniser of Mercer was charged with writing 20 bad checks totaling more than $3,000 to the Grove City Wal-Mart between Aug. 20 and Sept. 10.Zahniser also was charged with writing a bad check to Walt's Golden Dawn store in Mercer on July 22.
3 a.m. Saturday — A vehicle driven by Abdul-Kadhum Ayad Al-Fatlawy, 30, of Dearborn, Mich., struck an embankment off Interstate 80 in Richland Township before overturning. He was wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries. He told police he swerved to avoid hitting a deer, leading to the wreck. The driver was cited for not traveling at a safe speed.
