BUTLER TWP — A two-vehicle accident happened around 2:30 p.m. Friday on East Jefferson Street.

A woman was in a silver Jeep Liberty that was stopped heading east when the vehicle was rear-ended by a man driving a red Dodge Neon, according to Butler Township police.

Both the woman and man suffered injuries and were transported to Butler Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

The Neon was towed. The street was closed for about 45 minutes while debris was cleared from the road.

The Butler Fire Department also responded.

The names and ages of the woman and man in the accident were not immediately available.
