Ray's grand slam powers Rockets past Sharon

It was Brandon Ray's day.

Ray hit a grand slam in the top of the first inning and cruised through three innings on the mound as the SlipperyRock HighSchool baseball team downed Sharon 6-1 Wednesday afternoon.

Ray also scored two runs for the Rockets (2-0).

His brother, Sean Ray, had two hits and scored two runs for SlipperyRock.

In other games:

• AustinLeffler continued his hot hitting for Knoch, homering for the second consecutive day and driving in three runs, but the Knights fell 6-5 to Burrell.

Leffler has 11 RBI in four games this season for Knoch (3-1).

• The Seneca Valley baseball team fell to Mt. Lebanon 8-6. No other information was provided.
