Gibsonia woman accused of assaulting Butler County girl

A Gibsonia woman has been charged with multiple offenses related to the alleged abuse of a 7-year-old Butler County girl.

In court documents, police said the girl told them “she didn’t stop until she wanted to. Like I told you, she’s a mean and greedy woman.”

West Deer Township Police filed charges July 20 against Kerren Morra, 28, including felony counts of aggravated indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor and child endangerment, as well as misdemeanor counts of simple assault and corrupting minors.

Following her arraignment July 20, she was released on a $2 million unsecured bond by District Judge Tom Swan.

Police began investigating after receiving a June 15 report. Officers later interviewed the girl’s mother, who said she took her daughter to Quick Care Pediatrics in Butler after hearing stories of the alleged abuse.

The mother told police she saw inappropriate bruising on the girl’s lower body.

Police said they later interviewed the girl, who said Morra had spanked her with a hairbrush.

“Juvenile Jane Doe added that Kerren cracked the hairbrush while hitting her,” police said.

The girl told police Morra hit her repeatedly with the brush.

“She was very cruel,” said police, citing the girl’s interview response. “She’s a cruel woman.”

Later in the interview, the girl said Morra had also touched her in inappropriate places and with force.

Police said photographic evidence was collected.

Morra is scheduled to appear for an Aug. 3 preliminary hearing before Swan.
