Eileen L. Marshall
Eileen Lucinda Marshall, 89, of Penfield, Clearfield County, died Thursday at Clearfield Hospital after a short illness.
Born May 12, 1916, in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of Obeidah and Abagail Scobie Pennell.
She was a graduate of North Bay High School and was a Protestant.
Mrs. Marshall was a homemaker. After her marriage, she cared for her husband and his seven brothers and four sisters in Cooperstown, Middlesex Township. She later moved with her husband to West Virginia, where they ran the Marshall Oil & Gas Co.; and then moved to Penfield in 1960.
Surviving are four children, John S. "Mike" Marshall of Penfield, Robert A. Marshall of Sabula, Clearfield County, Mrs. John (Patricia) Overturf of Grant, Indiana County, and Mrs. David (Deborah) Owens of Woodland, Clearfield County; a brother, Donald Pennell of North Bay; and a sister, Iva Cousineau of North Bay.
She also is survived by seven grandchildren, Lucinda Beal of Scottdale, Teresa Beck of Falls Creek, Jackie Stahlman of Punxsutawney, Tara Carpenter of Baltimore, Md., Amanda Owens of Woodland, Robert A. Marshall Jr. of Sabula and John Douglas Owens of Woodland; and seven great-grandchildren, Pvt. Robert Chuck Penvose III of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., Joseph, Jared and Jason Stahlman, all of Punxsutawney, and John, Andrew and Jordan Beal, all of Scottdale.
Her husband, John "Jack" Marshall, whom she married Oct. 11, 1937, died in September 1985. She also was preceded in death by five brothers, Kenny, Harry, Cecil, Merle J. and Clarence; and a granddaughter, Angel Overturf.
MARSHALL - Friends of Eileen Lucinda Marshall, who died Thursday, May 19, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at RALPH M. GEER FUNERAL HOME, 12045 Bennetts Valley Highway, Penfield. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Terry Felt, pastor of Beechtree Union Church of Brockway, officiating.
