Lorrie Barkley

SAXONBURG — Lorrie Barkley has been named manager of the Northwest Consumer Discount Co.'s Saxonburg office.

Barkley will be responsible for business in the office at 265 W. Main St., including business development, staffing and customer and community relations.

She joined Northwest in 1990 in the Allison Park office.

Barkley graduated from Butler County Community College with two associate's degrees in applied science and business management.

She lives in Renfrew with her husband, Rich. The couple has two grown children and three grandchildren.

CRANBERRY TWP — Westinghouse Electric Co. has named Robert “Bob” Copp as project director for the Hematite Decommissioning Project.The former Hematite fuel fabrication facility in Festus, Mo., manufactured uranium fuel for the U.S. Government and commercial electric power utilities.The property covers about 228 acres.Plant operations included low-enriched uranium fuel fabrication, processing and treating uranium compounds. Contamination at the site consists of uranium and thorium in the soil and groundwater.Cleanup and decommissioning costs are estimated at $40.5 million.Westinghouse became the owner of the Hematite site following the purchase of the nuclear operations of ABB in April 2000.The facility was the oldest nuclear fuel manufacturing facility in the U.S. when Westinghouse ceased fuel manufacturing operations in June 2001.The NRC in November approved the site's decommissioning plan, and site work under way includes excavating waste burial areas, removing contaminated soil and shipping the material for off-site disposal. This phase of work is expected to be done in 2013.

• Matthew Best with the Farmers National Bank of Emlenton has been named a 2010 Platinum Club member of the Investment Professionals Financial Advisor group. Best of Chippenville also is ranked sixth in overall production for Farmers National. These awards were given at the 2011 Investment Professionals National Sales Conference in November.
