Catherine J. Hosak, 82, of Butler died Friday afternoon at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Worthington, Nov. 6, 1927, a daughter of the late Mike and Olga Tancabel.

She had worked for 30 years at Basilon's Formal Wear store. Before that she had been a waitress at the Lake Arthur Country Club and at the Nationwide Insurance Co. Regional Office.

She had belonged to the Universe Women's Bowling League.

She was the widow of Steve Hosak. They were married Nov. 25, 1955, and he died June 20, 2006. She also was preceded in death by her son, Steven M. Hosak, who died July 2, 2004, and her brother, Joseph Tancabel.

Surviving are a son, Andrew J. Hosak of Las Vegas; a daughter, Debbie Riemenschneider and her husband, Dan, of Butler; three grandchildren, Brandie Rearick, Jerad Krivak and Tanya Hosak; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Tancabel of Bessemer, Pa., and Richard Tancabel of Youngstown, Ohio; and two sisters, Mary Proctor of Bessemer, and Patty Vallus of Youngstown.

<B>HOSAK</B> — Friends and family of Catherine J. Hosak, who died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. David Panther, pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church of Butler, will officiate.
