SAXONBURG — Friends of the South Butler Community Library will have a six-day used book sale March 28 through April 2 in the used book shop at the library, 240 W. Main St.
Most used books will be sold as buy-one, get-one free or by the bagful.
Sale hours are: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
[naviga:h3]Swimmer tells of Channel try[/naviga:h3]
Bill Wilson, swim instructor at the Butler YMCA, will present his slide presentation, “Challenging the English Channel,” at 7:30 p.m. April 11 in the Phillips Room of the Butler YMCA, 339 N. Washington St.
Wilson will describe open water swims from the white sandy beaches of Hawaii to Boston Harbor, and his attempt to swim across the English Channel from Dover, England, to Cape Gris Nez, France.
[naviga:h3]Open house set for preschool[/naviga:h3]
The Butler YWCA Montessori preschool program will have an open house for returning and new students from 10 a.m. to noon April 11 at the school in the Monarch Building, 100 Brugh Ave.
Teachers will be available to provide information.
The class options offered will be a traditional Montessori program four days a week and modified Montessori programs two or three days a week. Classes will be from 9 a.m. to noon or 12:45 to 3:45 p.m. Tuesdays to Fridays.
