Knoch duo rolls on
Knoch's John Hook and Tom Gillespie shot a 77 and 78, respectively, Wednesday at The Links at Spring Church in the WPIAL boys golf semifinals.
The effort moves both golfers onto the district championships, to be held Wednesday at Totteridge Golf Club in Greensburg.
Only 12 of 48 golfers advanced to the title match.
North Allegheny 189, Butler 198 — Matt Maloy shot a 37 at Butler Country Club, but the Golden Tornado were nipped by North Allegheny in a pivotal golf match.Grant Matens and Donny Lewis each fired a 35 for North Allegheny (11-2), which took the section lead over Butler (10-3) with one match remaining for both schools.
