Hurt doesn’t lessen, it doesn’t go away

You left this earth, we all fell apart

All that’s left is a seeping hole in the heart.

After 20 years, who would you have become?

A father, a husband, a loving son?

A rock star, a millionaire, a breaker of hearts?

The being of your legacy, so many wonderful parts.

After 20 years, I miss you more everyday

If I could climb the stairs to heaven, I would find a way

I would pull you back down, and never let you go

But for now, your life on earth, Jesus says no

He needs you there to rock with the angels in the sky

Setting the stage for when its my turn to die

Amplifiers turned up, microphones cranked high

A reunion of melodies, singing together, you and I.

After 20 years, who knows when we will meet again.
